Is your skin prone to acne, sensitive and annoyingly oily at the same time?
If the answer is Yes and you have been dying to find the right facial wash to treat your stubborn acne whilst keeping the excess oil at the bay but at the same time does not irritate your skin then you might want to continue reading this post. Because just like you, I have acne-prone, sensitive and oily skin too. High Five!
This bad boy, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel has long stayed in my holy-grail skincare list since 2017 and irreplaceable. This is how the product looks like:
I use this facial wash on daily basis in the morning and night time before going to bed. The formula is so gentle and it does not strip away the natural oils on your skin since it is slightly acidic – at about 5.5 pH level. A good facial wash has no greater than 7 pH level otherwise it will dry out your skin and remove all the good naturally-produced-oil from your face. Don’t wanna let that happen, do you?
Move along, La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel has a transparent runny gel with gentle scent that you can barely smell. If strong scented facial wash is your pet-peeve than this babe is ready to be adopted by you.
You only need a pea sized amount of the gel and it lathers very smoothly on your skin. Even during the times when I have pimples or cystic acne, this baby never leaves any harsh feelings. Rather it soothes and calm my redness.
Does your current facial wash make your skin feels tight? Tight skin does not mean your skin is squeaky clean but it’s a sign that your skin loses most of its natural oils. This skin condition tends to make your skin more oily if you have oily/combination skin and dryer if you have dry skin.
But that is not how my skin feels after washing it with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft.
Do I still recommend La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel even if you have dry skin? I would say yes, I still recommend this gentle facial wash and you should give it a try if your skin is sensitive or reactive to any harsh ingredients.
My fair and just opinions:
Pros:
- Perfectly cleans the excess makeup and dirt on my skin
- It does not leave my skin dry but remove all the excessive oil
- The formula is very gentle and suitable for sensitive skin
- Has pH level at 5.5 meaning it does not strip away the natural oils
- Helps prevent acne and soothe redness
- You only a pea-sized amount of it so it will last for ages $$$
- The flip-top tube is so well designed it does not leak every time I put it on my luggage
Cons:
- I cannot find any, I just love it the way it is 🙂
If you are wondering, I bought La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel 200ml for AUD 17.39 at Chemist Warehouse Australia (Not an affiliate and I am not getting any commision from both Chemist Warehouse or La Roche-Posay).
It is also available in pharmacies such as Watsons and Guardian in Singapore.
That is it for now! Thank you so much for reading my first #SkincareWithYuni and hopefully you enjoy it as much as I do ❤
See you soon on my next post!
Cheers,
Yuni
